    Transfer Enrollment Checklist

    You're next steps to becoming a Mighty Oak


    Follow the checklist below to complete your enrollment at Oakland City University.

    Step 1: Apply for Financial Aid
    Oakland City University requires any student receiving institutional aid to complete a FAFSA to receive institutional funds. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is your application for financial aid. File your FAFSA and enter OCU's school code 001824.  Complete the FAFSA before the April 15th deadline to receive Indiana state aid.
    Step 2: Activate MyOCU Student Portal
    Activate your MyOCU portal to access your academic, billing, and financial aid information. Your initial login for your student portal is as follows:
    • Username: lastnamefirstname (Example: smithjohn)
    • Password:Oakland2024
    If you are having issues logging into your student portal, please contact our IT Department at ithelpdesk@oak.edu.
    Step 3: Confirm Your Enrollment
    Confirm your enrollment and secure your place by paying your Enrollment Deposit. (Required by all students, including athletes.)
    Step 4: To live on campus or not? 
    Let us know if you are going to live on campus by submitting your Housing Application & Contract and submitting your required Housing Deposit.  If not living on campus, complete the Exemption form to be approved to commute.
    Step 5: Register for New Student Orientation (NSO)
    Register for New Student Orientation, required of all new students. During orientation you will receive your class schedule, speak with financial aid and business office representatives, and meet your future classmates. 
    Step 6: Submit Immunization Records
    Submit your Immunization form and documents (required by the State of Indiana Department of Health) before you attend NSO.
    Step 7: Provide Final Materials
    Submit the following materials as they become available:
    • Final college transcript(s) (including any dual credit
    • Library Account Registration
    • New Student Forms
    Step 8: Attend New Student Orientation
    Attend New Student Orientation and become a Mighty Oak!
